Planning for the Centenary remains on track. The flagship event is at Moor Park on Wednesday 9th June 2021. The format is: meet for coffee and bacon baps in time for a Shotgun Start at 0930 for 92 golfers (23×4), playing Stableford with the best 2 scores to count. Dinner for a maximum of 120 will be at 1530. Another event will be held at Coxmoor on Wednesday 11th August 2021. This will be also be for teams of 4, teeing off from the 1st and 10th at midday, with an evening meal to follow.
The handbook and Newsletter mailed in January 2021 will contain details of the events with entries either online or by mail. Response dates for the 2 Centenary Meetings will be 31st March. Some of the clubs and societies with whom we have a strong association have been invited to send representatives. It is likely that a form of ballot will be needed for the Moor Park event. Priority will go to those who have organised RAFGS events and then those who have contributed most to the Centenary levies.
Various golf accessories featuring the new society logo will be presented as prizes for all the Meetings in 2021. These include holdalls, umbrellas, caps, towels, shoe bags, tote bags, scorecard holders and fluid bottles. Also new for 2021 will be a range of Glenmuir garments with the society’s logo. Order forms for all these items will be included in the mailing in January and on the web-site, which will show examples of them all plus our new ensign.
